In case you didn’t know…

Hey there!

Haven’t done a non-review actual life post in a bit… and since some life stuff is going on, I thought now might be as good a time as any.

First off… here is a list of things you may or may not know about me.

I co-host and produce a biweekly podcast about movies based on books.

I produce a biweekly podcast (on hiatus for this month) about folklore.

I do freelance work (audio and copy editing).

And importantly… I have glaucoma which means every now and then my eye pressure flares up and I can’t see for a few days while I medicate heavily and wish on all the stars that it comes back down, which it usually does. 

This whole never knowing when my one working eye will suddenly stop working… is loads of fun as I am sure you can imagine. This means I try to always, ALWAYS, always work ahead of my schedule so that when I have to spend three days not doing anything with my eyes (randomly and with very little warning), everything doesn’t just slide into chaos. 

I am also very lucky to have an amazing partner and kiddo who are… well, amazing, supportive, and helpful.

Why am I telling you all this?

Because it happened this week! 

This was also the week that my husband got his 2nd vaccination shot and our 3rd grader returned to In Person school for the first time in over a year.

It was a difficult week.

It is over now, mostly, but I thought I might as well do a life update just in case me getting my 2nd covid vaccination next week sends us into another spiral of pressure spikes.

(The pressure can spike because I overwork my eye, I get stressed, I start my period. I end my period. I get a cold, someone near me gets a cold… or any other myriad of random events that cannot be charted or understood. Again, it is pretty random.)

Keeps me on my toes.

So… if I suddenly go dark or miss a review or an episode goes out late at some point or there is a glaring spelling mistake on a social media post… well, I ask that you just remember that I am doing the best I can.
