Not all the Religious News is Bad Today

Welcome to June.

I am sure you are all aware of the tragic travesty that took place yesterday in Kansas. The murder of a doctor who offered abortion services to his patients is sickening… I hope we can all agree to that. Oh, wait, no… apparently, some people think he got what he deserved.

(The temptation to curse like a drunken sailor is pretty high right now.)

There are, remarkably enough, other news stories that have to do with religion today… and some of them are even good uplifting stories, so let’s turn toward them shall we?

First off we have a college student who went Undercover at an Evangelical University. I really like what he says about prayer and am going to add his book to my growing list.

Next, the pastor of a southern CA church has said he will not perform any more wedding ceremonies until the state’s same-sex marriage ban is overturned. Way to Go! Wouldn’t this be an awesome trend?

Personal good news: I was contacted by a religious PR firm who wants me to review some of their titles. I am a bit surprised considering my previous reviews of Christian titles, but sure… why not. (Higher Hope
The Noticer
The Great Eight)

Good news again (on a more country-wide score): We are one step closer to getting rid of the National Day of Prayer craziness.

And lastly, magic religious pj’s for your kids. (Thanks Mai)

That’s all for now folks, Happy First Day of June!

  1. I have suddenly gotten a bunch of Jesus types send me friend requests on Myspace. Which is really odd since I'm getting lots of stripper and online porn sites following me on Twitter. 😉
